Funganic is millions of microscopic fungi. It can be used as a root drench, where after only 8 hours from application the beneficial fungi will have fully colonised the root system, aiding disease protection. Once the plant is colonised at the cellular level, there is “no room at the inn” for pythium etc to attack the cells and cause infection. Funganic+ is a foliar spray, which is really effective against Budrot. It has a extra ingredient that helps to knock out any infection the plant may already have, and inoculate against future attacks.

What do these sizes mean?

Example: 100/150 – 200m3/hr

100 = Diameter of the filter opening (in mm), indicates the size of the fan / ducting
150 = Length of the filter (in mm)
200m3/hr = How much air can be pulled through the filter, indicates the size of the room your can use this filter for.

It’s made from recycled plastic bottles – but feels and looks more like cotton wool! it’s now available in the uk so we asked some urban gardeners in the us and canada for some practical tips and tried to find out if this latest growth media to come across the atlantic is a gimmick or a godsend!

Sure To Growª (STG) is super lightweight, easy-to-handle stuff that boasts all the qualities you would expect from a modern growth media. It’s easily wettable and highly aerated - we’ve heard this kind of stuff before. It’s also pH neutral so no presoaking is required. You can store it indefinitely and it’s not irritating to skin. However perhaps the most interesting thing to note about STG is that it is a non-wicking growth media. This means that it has no “capillary action“. STG does not “suck up” and absorb nutrient solution into itself in the conventional way like rockwool and coco coir, for instance. Instead it simply holds moisture within itself in a sort of “nutrient suspension’. The makers of STG claim that plants grown in STG don’t have to work as hard to get at the moisture and so don’t have to spend as much energy on feeding.
